Bed bug treatment

Bed bug treatment for cabins and vacation rentals

By cabin owners, for cabin owners.

A guest message about bites is the one no host wants to read. We move fast, treat the whole problem, follow up to make sure it is gone, and on our premium plan bed bug treatment is included with no extra fees.

Premium plan

Bed bugs are included. Really.

Most pest companies bill bed bugs as a separate, expensive job. We do not. On our premium plan, bed bug treatment is part of the plan, with no extra fees when a guest brings them in. Joe set it up that way because he rents cabins too, and he knows one surprise treatment bill can wipe out a month of bookings.

No separate bed bug invoice on the premium plan

What to look for

Signs of bed bugs in a rental

Bed bugs ride in on luggage, so a busy rental gets far more chances than a family home. Ask your cleaning crew to check for these at every turnover.

Small rust or dark spots on sheets, mattress seams or the box spring

Tiny pale eggs or shed skins tucked into seams, folds and headboard joints

Live bugs about the size of an apple seed, flat and reddish brown

Guests reporting itchy bites in rows or clusters after waking up

Spots behind outlet covers, picture frames and along the bed frame

Bites alone are not proof. Plenty of things cause bites, which is why we always inspect before we treat.

1

Reply to the guest quickly and kindly.

Thank them, apologize and offer to move them or end the stay. Never argue about it in a review reply.

2

Close off the room.

Shut the door and ask housekeeping not to strip the bed or carry anything out until we have looked.

3

Do not move furniture or luggage racks.

Mattresses, nightstands and chairs stay put. Moving them is how bed bugs reach other rooms.

4

Bag the linens inside the room.

Seal sheets and pillowcases in plastic bags before they leave the room, then wash and dry them on the hottest setting the fabric allows.

5

Call us before the next check-in.

Call 865-500-0571. We will set up an inspection and work to fit it in before your next guest arrives.

6

Block the dates if bed bugs are confirmed.

Hold the cabin off the calendar until treatment and the follow-up visit are done. A few lost nights cost less than a second complaint.

Our process

How our treatment works

No guesswork and no foggers. A careful inspection, a thorough treatment, and a return visit to make sure the job is finished.

Inspect

We check beds, furniture, baseboards and the rooms next door to confirm bed bugs and see how far they have spread.

01

Treat

We treat every affected room with methods suited to the furniture, fabrics and layout of a cabin.

02

Follow-up visit

Eggs can hatch after the first treatment, so we come back to check and treat again as needed.

03

Written report

You get a written report with photos: what we found, what we treated and when the cabin is ready for guests.

04

Using a property manager?

Send them this page. We coordinate prep, access and timing directly with their housekeeping team, and you both get the written report with photos.

How we work with cabin owners

Before we arrive

Preparing the cabin

Good prep makes the treatment work better. We send a checklist made for your cabin, but here is the short version for owners and housekeepers.

Wash and dry bedding, curtains and washable fabrics on high heat, then keep them sealed in clean bags.

Clear clutter from floors, closets and under beds so we can reach every edge.

Leave furniture where it is. Do not haul mattresses or couches out through the cabin.

Vacuum mattresses and floors, then seal the vacuum bag and throw it away outside.

Tell us about recent guests, which rooms were used and any other cabins the same crew cleans.

Bites alone are not proof. Plenty of things cause bites, which is why we always inspect before we treat.

FAQ

Bed bug questions

Still not sure what to do? Call 865-500-0571 and talk it through with us.

  • We offer same-week appointments and work around your booking calendar. Call 865-307-7539 as soon as a guest reports bites, and we will schedule the inspection and plan treatment before your next check-in whenever we can.

  • Yes. Bed bug treatment is included in our premium plan with no extra fees. Plan pricing is not published yet, so ask for plan details when you request your free estimate.

  • We do not recommend it. Foggers and store sprays tend to scatter bed bugs into walls and other rooms, which makes the problem bigger and harder to treat. Bag the linens, close the room and call us instead.

  • That is most of what we do. Send us the booking gaps and we will schedule around them, then email you a photo report the same day.
